Protein Apple Crisp

Ingredients

For the apple filling:

6 apples

1/3 cup butter, melted

3 tsp flour

1/3 cup water

4 tbsp lemon juice

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp salt

For the topping:

1 cup flour

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup crumbles

1 cup rolled oats

1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350F.

2. Cut apples into thin slices. In a bowl, mix together apples with all filling ingredients.

3. Spread apple filling evenly in a large baking dish.

4. Cut butter into small cubes. In a bowl, mix together all topping ingredients. Use your hands to blend and knead the mixture into a crumbly topping.

5. Spread topping evenly over your filling.

6. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.

7. Serve warm, topped with ice cream or whipped cream. Yum!


Extra Tips: Mix in other fruits like blueberries or peaches for a more unique flavor!
